I have had conversations about the ‘’most preferred mode of employment’’ with a few colleagues/friends, especially the ones in the tech industry, and most of their responses are tilted towards working as a freelancer. Many argue that the freelance system helps them gain more control of their time and the amount they earn. I shared this same thought when I had full-time roles in 2020. Now that I have experienced freelance life, I think I want to switch back to full-time mode.

Yes, the freelance life comes with its own perks, but I have realized that there’s more to it than just simply coming and going as you please having more control of your time. Not a lot of people talk about the lack of stability; there are periods when you would have no client and there are periods where it can be overwhelming and you can’t meet up with increasing demands. I would also like to add that the amount you would earn as a freelancer is subjective. For certain people, a full-time favours them more, while for some professionals, freelance gigs afford them higher earnings. ( It really de

Personally, I think the world of freelancing has been a great learning phase, I have had to toughen up, improve on the art of selling my skills, (still learning this, to be honest), and managing my time.

Currently, I’m now focused on getting full-time digital communication roles (preferably, remote). Another interesting event that has happened in the past couple of months is picking up a new skill — UI/UX design. ( I will write about this next time).
